About Michael Sperberg-McQueen

Studied Germanic philology; wandered into computing (against the advice of my long-suffering advisor) as a way of making tools for philologists, and never came back out. Participated in the creation of the Text Encoding Initiative Guidelines and the specification of the Extensible Markup Language. He/him/his, but they/them works too.
